For you Katrina was Jan Durina’s first musical project (established in 2012) which later resulted in avantgarde audiovisual club performances. Durina created a persona named “Meta”, who was the face of the otherwise anonymous project. For you Katrina released 2 full-length albums and two EPs combining dark electronica and emotional, mysterious vocals – Demo(n)s For You (2012), For you Katrina (2014), Moon Allee (2015) and High Notes (2017). The project was officially closed in December 2018. It was dedicated to the British artist, musician, and poet KatieJane Garside (born Katrina Jane Garside), whose work Durina first encountered as a teenager. He regards her album Lalleshwari/Lullabies in a Glass Wilderness (2006) as one of the most seminal and inspirational musical achievements. “KatieJane seemed as though she hailed from another world, as if several different souls converged within her body, each one incredibly unrestrained and passionate, refusing to be confined by any social norms. Simultaneously, she exuded an angelic, childlike vulnerability that appeared almost precarious in this world. Until then, I had never encountered anything so potent in any artistic expression. The music, poetry, and visual art that KatieJane creates resonate with emotion, compelling one to confront something within oneself.”
