Romeo & Hellion is a collaborative platform intertwining and connecting artistic approaches of Jan Durina and Slovak performance artist and painter Miriama Kardošová.

The first performance by Romeo & Hellion took place in 2021 in Bratislava (Slovakia) under the title Additional Feel. Throughout the fortyminute audiovisual show with an almost mystical and mythological essenceshow, the audience explored themes of power and powerlessness, death and the decay of humanity and nature, as well as mental and physical desires. In 2022, Romeo & Hellion premiered their next performance Additional Feel: MAD CITY at the National Gallery in Prague. They decided to involve their friends, students and graduates of local art schools, and international guests. Emphasizing the collective creative process and its educational potential, they organized performance workshops and collaborated on the design of individual character costumes. Set in a dystopian Mad City, the performance served as a commentary on dysfunctional social norms, exploring these themes from diverse perspectives. Marked by moments of almost grotesque theatrics infused with a hint of absurdity, the performance interwove elements of nihilism, pop culture, and the erosion of emotions, values, and relationships. The nearly hour-long performance was structured into several acts, each serving as a reflection of socio-political phenomena. The final cathartic act culminated in a dystopian scene, reflecting the decline of values and violence, the abuse of power, and the impossibility of winning the battle against them.
